On this page, we’ll take a look at some of the best football and baseball video games currently on market.
EA has raised the ante on its Madden franchise – and this incarnation is a keeper. Including a Madden Test, first time players are walked through a series of tests designed to gauge your running, passing and defense skills. After taking the test, the computer compiles your data and adjusts the game’s difficulty to your specific strengths and weaknesses. And every time you play a game, your skill level is adjusted automatically. Madden 10 comes with a virtual trainer on hand to help you improve your skills. Other great features that you’ll find here include a Rewind feature – giving you a chance to try a different play. There’s also a Backtrack feature, where the game itself will show you specifically what you could have done to improve a bad play.
Here’s the skinny on MLB 10: The Show – the game offers superb hitting interface and simulation, complete with lifelike ball physics and fielding attributes. You’ll find cool, new audio-visual frills (the ability to record your own stadium jeers is just one of ‘em). And the Road To The Show continues to be an addictive favorite feature, with new options such as the ability to watch entire games (pitch by pitch) along with catching full games when playing a catcher. Now, there’s an addition of training, which gives you the chance to improve your skills via batting cages and pitching simulated games.
Check back regularly for more, as we’ll include a review of the best – in our opinion – basketball video game out there.
